1. Completing a Dirty Design - Where do I start?
So you are ready to start on your design masterpiece! Start by creating your Dirty Design using a design program or any program that can convert your image into PNG format.
So what are the requirements?
Your image should not have a background colour and include layers. We make sure that this occurs so that we can get the best possible image onto our tees if your Dirty design wins!
Your design should be supplied in not less than a 300dpi image and your design should be supplied in a large enough format so that it won't distort when we move it to a full sized shirt (we would recommend about 40 cm or 15 inches).
In most applications when saving your Dirty Design you should be able to Go to "Save As" menu option. When you save your image ensure your select the PNG format. For help on the product you are using be sure to check out the application help and do a little googling if you don't know how to get a PNG formatted file out of the program.
When you have your image ready to go you can then upload it!
2. How do I upload my Dirty design?

So you have created your design and now you want to upload it? It's pretty simple. Just follow these steps and your design will go to the masses for voting and you'll be on the road to fashion stardom!
Go to My Account and then click upload new design.
You will be presented with the upload design screens.
From the upload new design screens you will be able to upload your design image, position it on the tee, select your tee colour(s) and cut and who you want to wear it (the boys or gals or both!). Then you can add a little detail about the design such as a title, a description (what the inspiration was or how you arrived at the end result etc) and then add some keywords, so people can find it when searching for specific designs!
The first step is to upload your design. The following screen displays where you can select your file.
The next step is to place the design onto the shirt. On this screen you can:
- enlarge your design and/ or position it on the shirt;
- You can change the cut of the of the shirt used from Crew/ Scoop neck to the Vee neck (and the shirt image will change);
- Select up to three shirt colours to use with your design;
- Change the sex that the shirt will be design upon (by default both Male and Female shirts are available); and
- Add a title, description and keywords for your design.
Click the done button.
Almost there now! The final step is to select the Voting Cycle you would like to the design to appear in. You will be displayed with the next three (3) voting cycles. Select your cycle (remembering the current cycle may finish in a few days) and then click done.
Once you have done this your design will go to the sites powers that be for approval. You will receive a message from the site when you design has been approved. And your design will be available for all to see and vote on.

3. How do I purchase a tee?
Simple really! You can purchase anyone of our tees from the DirtyLaunderette shop. There are two ways to buy. You can do a quick buy, by clicking on the (+) button on the product you wish to purchase or click on the design you wish to purchase and you will be taken to the product screen.
Quick Purchase
When quick purchasing simply select the cut, colour and size. Your options will be populated in the box to show what you are ready to add to your cart. Once the selection has been made the price of the item will be displayed. To add it to your cart, click the done button.
Product purchase
To purchase multiple products or to see what sizes and colours are available for a particular product you can go to the product's page. To order just enter the number of products you wish to order and then click done this will then add the selected products to your cart.
To then check-out and complete your purchase click on the cart button, check your order and then click checkout. Follow the instructions to use points, points and pay or credit card to get your product on it's way!
4. How does my tee arrive and when will it be here?
You should receive your tee in the post within five (5) working days (for Australian Orders) and within 2 weeks for international orders after placing the order with us (assuming you haven't pre-ordered one of our latest hot-washed designs! In which case you will have to wait while those ones come off the launderette line!)
You can check on your order progress through the cart and then by clicking the Track current order option. We will keep you updated on when product is packed and shipped so you'll know how many days before you too join the D-Generation. And please don't go chasing that postie up and down the street!
5. Returns, Refunds and Exchanges (what you need to know!)
DirtyLaunderette may at it’s discretion exchange or refund product if your purchase falls into any of the following:
1. DirtyLaunderette will exchange products if an incorrect size has been ordered/ delivered. Postage must be paid in both directions by the purchasor and DirtyLaunderette must be notified in writing within seven days from the date of delivery. The garments must be returned in their original condition and must be re-saleable. If DirtyLaunderette deems the goods not to be in a re-saleable condition they will be returned to the customer at their expense.
2. DirtyLaunderette will not provide a refund if a customer changes their mind in relation to a purchased product. DirtyLaunderette will happily exchange any product for product of equal or lesser value, provided the garments are returned in original condition and are re-saleable. Postage for the exchange will be at the purchasor's expense. If DirtyLaunderette deem the goods as not being in a re-saleable condition they will be returned to the customer at their expense.
3. DirtyLaunderette will provide a full refund (excluding postage charges) or exchange if a garment has a manufacturing fault. DirtyLaunderette must be notified in writing within seven days from the date of delivery of the affected product. The affected product must be returned to DirtyLaunderette at the purchasor’s expense. DirtyLaunderette will pay for the shipping of the replacement garment back to the purchasor after receipt of the faulty goods.
6. How do I invite my friends and mates to join the DirtyLaunderette?
It's easy to invite your friends and mates to get down and dirty at DirtyLaunderette.
Simply Login and then go to you profile page by clicking the "My Account" link.
On the right hand side of your profile page you will see a box named "Top Friends".
At the bottom of this box you will see a plus sign.
Click this button to access DirtyLaunderette's friends information. You will now see a screen with three tabs "Top Friends", "Search" and "Invite".
Click the "Invite" tab. DirtyLaunderette allows you to invite mates through an individual email or from your contacts list within Hotmail, GMail or Yahoo.
To invite a single friend enter their email address in the "Email" box an click send.
To invite mates you already have in your contacts listing, select the mail client you would like to use enter your username and password for that account and click retrieve. All of your contacts will then be displayed. Tick and click away to invite any number of your contacts to join DirtyLaunderette.
And remember if your invited mates purchase a tee with us you will get credit points you can use to purchase your own tee!
7. So I am designer! What can I win for my hard spent design time?
Well great question! And one that all of our budding designers would like to know a little more about. Basically the prizes on DirtyLaunderette comprise two pieces. And yes, these are in addition to the kudos of having a winning design!
Firstly all winning designs are awarded two free tees (100 credit points credited to their account), that can be used to purchase their own design or another one that they may like (clearly it's up to you).
In addition to the credit points there are cash prizes available to each winning design. The cash prize is currently $200 (AUD) paid to each designer per winning design. This prize money is subject to change, but as our community grows and designers gain more exposure we expect that the prize money will reflect the increased exposure.
So get cracking, you could have a bit of extra cash and some cool new tees in no time!
